wooden Keel blocks/bilge blocks for boats, nautical, vintage marine, primitive. Shipped with Canada Post Regular Parcel.
These are very heavy 5-7lb each. Made of hardwood. I estimate the date at 1900s based on hardware used - slot wood screws and 4 sided (square head) wood bolts. Heavy wood dowels also used in the construction. I believe the "v" keel rests are inset into the base, based on use of fastener hardware.
The construction is very strong.
Unclear on correct name (I am not a mariner) so I am using the term keel or bilge block. Blocks used to dry dock boats.
Looks to be the original finish.
These blocks measure 17 1/2" long x 6 1/2" wide at the base and 5 1/4" tall.
These are extremely nice pieces for the marine collector or display. Please look at all photos closely.
