    Description

This is a wonderful art calendar from 1982 celebrating the Graphik Der Wiener Secession movement of 1897. This movement was a progressive alliance of artists and designers which placed special emphasis on the applied arts. An offshoot of this movement would be the establishment of the famous Wiener Werkstatte in 1903. The calendar is quite large at almost 14" by 19" and printed on nice heavy stock with only the few minor issues mentioned above. There are wonderful Art Noveau illustrations by Friedrich Konig, Karl Schwetz, Max Kurzweil, Berthold Loffler, Max Benirschke, Koloman Moser, Adolph Boehm, Ludwig Heinrich Jungnickel, Bronica Koller, Ferdinand Andri and Leopold Stolba. The illustrations themselves measure about 12" by 12" and would be suitable for framing if you wanted to go that route. All in all an a very interesting and colorful kaleidoscope of 1900's Art Noveau drawings published in calendar form by the Verlag Galerie Welz of Salzburg, Austria.
