RARE ASIAN ANTIQUE JAPANESE CAST IRON TEAPOT/ TEA KETTLE DRAGON FOOTED SCENES

Description

This rare antique Japanese cast iron teapot/tea kettle stands approx. 12” high to the top of the cap. the maximum width from the spout to the opposite handle is about 10".  The eight sided octagonal vessel is approx. 4.5” across the bottom. It has a signature block in characters on the bottom that I cannot read.  It has 8 feet on the base at each corner and 6 picture panels that are in great condition.  There is a fabulous dragon that joins the spout and neck and on the opposite side is a very decorative handle.  There is a small cap on top of the neck with what looks like a Japanese foo dog.  Very lovely heavy piece that is rarely seen this large and in such great condition. It weighs approx. 5 lbs.
