1930 April 24, 1930: Marlene Dietrich, Berlin Stage and screen star arrives in Hollywood, Los Angeles, to appear in talking picture at the Paramount Studios. Miss Dietrich made her screen debut in the German and English talking versions of Emil Jannings “The Blue Angel” in Berlin. She was brought to Hollywood at the request of Josef Von Sternberg, who directed her in the Jannings Picture. Von Sternberg is shown greeting her at the station when she arrived. It will be noted that Von Sternberg is wearing white flannel trousers and white gloves with overcoat. Miss Dietrich is to appear on the screen with Gary Cooper in “Morocco” which Von Sternberg will direct. Photo is 8 inches by 10 inches in size.
