James Howarth 3/8" Spindle turning gouge

Description

This is a 3/8" spindle turning gouge that tapers from 3/8" at the tip to 1/2" at the back of the gouge. It is stamped "James Howarth cast" and looks like the word steel may have run off the edge of the tool. There is a small logo stamped in it too. Total tool length is 13 1/4" and the cutting length is 2 3/4". The handle looks to be a replacement and has a split in it--see pictures.
