CONFEDERATE MESS KNIFE AND FORK

Description

English made cutlery as was typical in the South comprising a three tine fork and spatulate blade knife with dark wood handles. The knife marked Corsan, Denton, Burdekin & Co, recorded Sheffield 1850-63 and noted for fine Bowie knives. Confederate soldiers carried their own eating and other personal items into service and battle. Ex: Schindler Antiques, Charleston.
