    Nice antique newel post. Has a dark varnished finish, with some white paint on the top ball finial.. Has a nice beaded ball top finial. It is a salvaged piece so expect to find nails, nail holes, and small chunks missing. scuffs and scratches. Does have a notch on the bottom. Overall good solid condition. Please look over the pictures and ask questions when needed. Thanks for looking!
